Music Is My First Language – Music Education Programs

MiMFL’s Music Education Program is an intensive model aimed at fostering and refining the musical talent of all students involved. Our approach to teaching and learning will establish a deep, rather than explorative, experience for our life-learners – participants who otherwise may not have access to such training. Student participation begins with either our community or school based workshop programming. After which committed families and students in need will be eligible for the MiMFL private music lesson program. **If you are interested in setting up either a community or school based program in your city please contact us.

MiMFL Approach

Through study, practice, investigation and persistence, we aim to carry students to the professional level of the music field of their choice. Students will experience rigorous skill-based training, providing them with a solid musical foundation. Enrichment opportunities will be accessible in the form of local band and orchestra programs, summer intensives (local & abroad) and artist/celebrity mentorship. Participating students will be evaluated and assessed on a continual basis and long-term differentiated instruction will be structured around each of their needs. Our curriculum in each geographic location will align with State and National Arts Learning Standards.

Later phases of the educational program will include the following type of programming: MiMFL students will eventually be part of a global community of young musicians and have the opportunity to come together with like minded peers during various events and summer camps. Students completing our educational program will be well prepared for a career in the music field and benefit from our alliances and partnerships with top higher education institutions. Students will receive assistance in their college application process, preparation for auditions and creation of audition recordings. Students that choose to continue their musical career by entering into the music industry will benefit from mentorship and guidance in all related areas.
